A game mode where you are boxed into a tiny space that only expands by completing advancements.
Boxed 3.4.1 is a maintenance release. It fixes a crash that could stop Boxed from enabling on first boot, makes the NO_MOBS option of /boxadmin place usable, and updates Boxed to BentoBox 3.17.0.
Highlights
- No more "contloc out of spec" crash on enable: Boxed no longer fails to load when Minecraft's biome noise returns a continentalness value outside the expected range.
/boxadmin place ... NO_MOBSworks: admins can now place a structure with its built-in mobs suppressed.- BentoBox 3.17.0: Boxed is now built against BentoBox 3.17.0.
Bug Fixes
- Boxed skipped during enable with
contloc out of spec: when the seed world was copied on first boot, opening a loot chest could roll an explorer map. That map searched for structures far outside the seed area, where continentalness can go below -1.2. That value matched no band, so the lookup threw an error and BentoBox skipped Boxed. Values below or above the nominal range now fall into the outermost bands (mushroom fields and far inland). [PR #136] Fixes #135 NO_MOBSargument rejected by/boxadmin place: the argument-count check rejected a 7th argument before theNO_MOBSoption could be read. The option is now accepted, and it no longer carries over into later placements.- Seed biome selection at erosion level 5: missing parentheses in a humidity check caused the wrong biome to be picked in some erosion level 5 areas. This only affects seed worlds generated after the upgrade. Existing worlds are unchanged. [PR #133]
Other Improvements
- Clearer
area.deathsconfig comments: the comments now explain which death settings affect island levels in Level 2.29.0 and later, and which only affect BentoBox's own death counter and the%boxed_deaths%placeholder. Only comments changed. No options were added or renamed. [PR #134] - Code quality: SonarCloud issues were resolved across the codebase. Deprecated biome registry lookups were replaced, the seed biome logic was simplified, and dead code was removed. Test coverage was expanded (170 tests). [PR #133]
- Documentation: the README now explains how to use a custom map as the seed world, and documents BentoBox's native region deletion. Regionerator is no longer the main recommendation.
- Publishing: releases are now published automatically to CurseForge and Hangar as well as Modrinth, and the Modrinth game-version list has been updated. [PR #128] [PR #129]
