Free packet-based NPCs — thousands at zero entity cost, stackable traits, edited 100% in-game.
Anima 1.0 — Initial release
The first public release of Anima, the free, packet-based NPC platform for Paper/Spigot. Spawn NPCs, style them, give them behaviour, and build on top — with no lag and no config files.
★ What's in 1.0
- Packet-based NPC engine — 100% packets, no real entities; thousands of NPCs at near-zero tick cost.
- Composable traits — an NPC is a carrier onto which you stack traits (look, path, merchant, dialogue…), from the core or from addons.
- Per-player appearance — per-viewer skin, name, hologram lines and pose on the same NPC.
- 100% in-game editor — create and configure everything through a GUI; no config files for NPC setup.
- Actions & conditions — attach behaviours (on click, on approach…) built from composable conditions.
- Virtual interaction layer — real hitboxes, projectile raycasts and an
NpcDamageEventso combat/spell addons can hit NPCs. - Pluggable storage — JSON (default), SQLite and MySQL, with an open provider SPI and automatic migration.
- Developer API — a clean, versioned
anima-apito register traits, actions, conditions and bridges. - PacketEvents-driven — validated on Minecraft 1.20.2 → 26.x; PacketEvents is bundled (relocated), nothing extra to install.
