Prevent climbing on rejected blocks
Players can sometimes use a client-predicted block as a temporary step even though GP3D rejects its placement in a claim. This release adds an optional setback to prevent repeated placements from being used to climb walls. It is available on Bukkit/Paper and Fabric.
The option is off by default. To enable it, add or change this setting in
plugins/GriefPreventionData/config.yml:
GriefPrevention:
Claims:
PreventBlockPlaceClimbing: true
Run /gpreload after saving. When GP3D denies a colliding placement near a player's feet, the
protection can return them to a recent position supported by real blocks, including when the
upward movement arrives after the placement is denied. The destination is checked for support
and clearance before a setback.
Ordinary jumps, authorized building, active claim bypass, flying, gliding, swimming and vehicle movement are unaffected. A recent safe position is needed before a setback can occur.
Upgrade notes
- Existing servers keep their previous behavior until the new setting is enabled.
- No new permission nodes are required.
- Both platforms continue to ship in one universal
GriefPrevention3D.jar. Fabric requires Fabric API.
