Standalone fake-player NPCs for Paper with traders, guards, patrols, equipment, storage, and Bodyguard links.
NPCs 0.2.0
Player-Visible Changes
- Bodyguard NPCs now prioritise staying leashed to their owner while protecting them, reducing stalled chases that previously ended in emergency teleports.
- NPCs that spawn or path around trees now try safer descent and can hold bow perches briefly before coming down when the owner moves too far away.
- NPCs can use boats for longer or deeper water crossings when pathing around shores.
- Bodyguard NPCs now prioritise returning to their owner when they drift too far away during combat.
- Bodyguards still intercept threats that are close to the owner, but no longer chase distant or stale threats until the owner reaches the emergency teleport range.
- Bodyguard owner-follow movement now uses a faster default follow step so sprinting players are less likely to outrun their guard.
- NPCs stuck above their target now prefer building a safe descent route instead of extending a flat bridge forward.
- Bow-equipped linked NPCs can hold a high perch while they still have a clear shot and the target remains in bow range.
- Perched bow NPCs resume descent/chase behaviour once the target moves too far away or breaks the shot.
Fixes And Compatibility
- Follow recovery now tracks actual NPC progress against moving owners instead of resetting blocked-follow state just because the owner moved to a new block.
- Traversal assists continue to clean up temporary blocks and boats through the existing NPCs runtime cleanup paths.
- Moving-owner stuck tracking no longer resets just because the owner crossed into a new block while the NPC stayed stuck.
- Unreachable bodyguard combat targets no longer force the NPC to stand and face the target instead of resuming owner follow.
- Treetop traversal no longer prioritises forward cobblestone bridges when the target is clearly below the NPC.
