Geyser is a program that allows Minecraft: Bedrock Edition clients to join Minecraft: Java Edition servers, allowing for true cross-platform between both editions of the game. It can be installed as a plugin on Paper, Waterfall, Velocity, or can be ran as a standalone program.
The ultimate goal of this project is to allow Minecraft: Bedrock Edition users to join Minecraft: Java Edition servers as seamlessly as possible. However, due to the nature of Geyser translating packets over the network of two different games, do not expect everything to work perfectly!
Geyser is an Open Collaboration project by Ziax, the creators of CubeCraft Games.
Setup
For the majority of setups, Geyser should work right out of the box as a plugin. However, when running as a standalone program, additional steps may be needed. Please take a look here for more information.
It is also important to note that certain hosts may not allow traffic over the UDP protocol by default, which is what Bedrock uses for network connections (unlike Java Edition which uses TCP). For more information on how Geyser may work for certain hosts, see our Supported Hosting Providers page.
Floodgate
Floodgate is a companion plugin to Geyser which removes the need for Bedrock clients to log into a Java Edition account. Bedrock clients are still required to be logged into a valid Microsoft account, however this plugin removes the requirement for Bedrock clients to log into Java Edition accounts too. See the Floodgate page for more information.
YouTube Tutorial
The instructions in the video above also contain setup instructions for Floodgate.
Test Server
If you would like to see how Geyser works before downloading, feel free to join our test server with the IP: test.geysermc.org
, with port 25565
for Java and 19132
for Bedrock.
Limitations
As Geyser is a protocol translator that essentially "bridges" two completely different games together, there are a few things that cannot be supported due to limitations inside of both Java & Bedrock. For a list of these limitations, see our Current Limitations page.
