Red Bull

I’m a fan of Red Bull – the best energy drinks in the world. They give me energy and a good mood for the whole day, so I dedicated this project to them.
🥫 Red Bull brings 26 real cans into survival, as a plugin for Paper servers or a mod for Fabric and NeoForge. You brew taurine from bull bile, fill cans at a crafting table, hunt the rarest editions in chests, and fly on their wiiings. Four cans too fast, and your heart gives out.
What you get
- 🥫 26 real cans: Original, Sugarfree, Zero, and the Editions from Red to Spring, each with its own buffs, a flavour, and a slogan.
- 🧪 A chemistry chain: cows drop bull bile, a brewing stand turns it into crude taurine, a furnace evaporates that into taurine, and a crafting table fills an empty can.
- 🗺️ Cans to find: most Editions also turn up in chests of their biomes, and four legends turn up nowhere else. A wandering trader brings a can or two, and now and then your fishing rod pulls one out of the water.
- 🪽 Real wiiings: a can with wings launches you and lets you glide like an elytra, from 16 seconds to over a minute.
- 💓 A price for it: caffeine builds up. Two cans make you jittery, three bring a crash, and the fourth within two minutes kills you. Caffeine also keeps you out of bed.
- 📖 A collection:
/redbullshows every can you have held and question marks for the rest. - 🏆 Six advancements in a Red Bull tab: Gives You Wings, Sugar Pit, On the Edge, Legend, and Collector.
- 🌍 Every player reads their own language: English, Russian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese, in the resource pack the plugin sends on join or inside the mods.

How to make a can

- Bull bile. An adult cow or mooshroom you kill drops it with a 5% chance, 2% more per level of Looting.
- Crude taurine. Brew bull bile into water bottles: one bile, three bottles.
- Taurine. Smelt crude taurine in a furnace.
- An empty can. Four iron nuggets and a copper nugget make one.
- The can. Fill it at a crafting table with two taurine, a dye, two of its flavour, a water bottle, and two sugar, or two honeycombs for a sugarfree can. Every recipe sits in your recipe book.
The cans
Every can carries the same caffeine, as the real ones do; they differ in buffs and wings. A can is harder to make than a potion, so its buffs last longer: 8 minutes for the crafted ones, 12 for the Editions you also find in chests, and 16 for the legends with a yellow name like a bottle o’ enchanting. Healing lasts 16 seconds at most and Strength II 3 minutes, or nobody could die. A can with sugar also feeds you a little. Chests hold a can with a 15% chance unless the table says otherwise.

Where else cans come from
- A wandering trader brings one or two cans: a crafted one for 6 emeralds, an Edition you also find in chests for 10. Legends are never for sale.
- Fishing: about one junk catch in ten is a can, empty or crumpled, of any flavour. Smelt the crumpled ones back into iron.
Advancements
A Red Bull tab joins your advancements with your first can:
| Advancement | How |
|---|---|
| Gives You Wings | Glide on the wings of a can |
| Sugar Pit | Sink into a sugar pit when a can’s buffs run out |
| On the Edge | Have 90 caffeine or more, and live |
| Legend | Find Ruby, Summer, Glacier, or Spring |
| Collector | Hold every one of the 26 cans |
Your collection
Type /redbull to open your collection: every can you have ever held, crafted, found, or been given, and an empty can with question marks for the rest. The title counts how many of the 26 you have. Admins see every can and ingredient there and take one with a click, or a stack with Shift.
Wiiings
A can with wings throws you upward as you finish it. Jump while in the air, and you glide as with an elytra for as many seconds as the can gives. Feathers trail behind you as you fly. If the wings run out in the air, Slow Falling sets you down gently.
- In the mods, the can gives you the Wings effect, with its icon and timer among your other effects. Elytra you wear don’t wear out while it carries you.
- On Paper, a plugin can’t add effects, so the can leaves a winged can in your hand instead. It glides only from your main hand, and switching away drops you. Once its flight runs out, or a minute after it would have, it crumples.
Crumpled cans
Every can you finish leaves a crumpled can in its own colours. They stack to 64, and a furnace melts each back into two iron nuggets, twice as fast in a blast furnace. Half the iron comes back, so two crumpled cans and a copper nugget make a new empty can.
Sugar or sugarfree
A can with sugar is cheaper and feeds you a little (two hunger points), but sugar burns out: when its buffs end, you sink into a sugar pit, Hunger I for 30 seconds and Slowness I for 15, and the bar above your hotbar says so in gold. A sugarfree can costs two honeycombs, feeds nothing, and leaves no pit, and too much caffeine from it brings no crash either. The caffeine is the same, and so is the death above 100.
Caffeine
Each can adds 30 caffeine, and caffeine wears off by one point every six seconds you play.
| Caffeine | What happens |
|---|---|
| 0–49 | Nothing. |
| 50–74 | Jitters: you get hungry faster and hear your heart now and then. |
| 75–100 | The crash, after a can with sugar: when its buffs end, three minutes at most, Slowness II and Weakness I follow for a minute. A sugarfree can doesn’t crash. Your heart pounds. |
| Over 100 | Your heart gives out. No totem saves you. |
Any caffeine at all keeps you out of bed. In the mods the Caffeine effect shows your stage as its level and the time until it wears off; on Paper you go by your heartbeat and the warnings above the hotbar.
A bucket of milk takes 20 caffeine away. Death takes all of it. Bull bile and crude taurine are drinkable too, but you won’t like them, and both within a minute put you in bull mode.
Get started
A Paper server. Download the plugin from Modrinth, Hangar, or GitHub and put it in plugins/ of a Paper 26.3 server on Java 25. Players get the resource pack when they join; without it the cans show the missing texture. config.yml turns the pack, the overdose, and the wings on or off, points the pack to your own host, and scales the bile and chest chances.
Fabric. Install the mod from Modrinth or GitHub with Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin for Minecraft 26.3, on the client and on the server.
NeoForge. Install the mod from Modrinth or GitHub for NeoForge 26.3, on the client and on the server. It needs nothing else.
The mods need no resource pack: their textures and languages are inside. Their settings live in config/redbull.toml, with the same switches as the plugin's, the pack aside.
Then type /redbull, take a can, and drink it. /redbull give <item> [player] [amount] and /redbull caffeine [player] need redbull.admin on Paper and operator rights in the mods.
