A skateboard you actually ride: push, tuck, ollie, grind and wall ride. Free addon for RP Engine.

Needs RP Engine (free) · Spigot and Paper 1.19.4 and newer · No client mods
What is it?
A skateboard you can actually ride. Push it along, tuck for speed, ollie, grind, lie down on it and ride a wall. And a skatepark to ride it in: ramps, rails, boxes, platforms and park furniture, all placeable and all skateable.
It is an addon for RP Engine: drop it in beside the engine and it brings its own content with it. The board's model, textures, animations and every skatepark piece install themselves on first boot. No resource pack to build and no client mods.
Riding
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| W | Push. A kick every 0.7 s, up to a speed your legs cannot beat |
| S | Push it backwards with the front foot, once you have stopped |
| A / D | Steer. In the air, flick the board round under you |
| Sprint | Tuck. The speed cap comes off and the board creeps toward its top speed |
| Space | Ollie. Held against a wall, ride the wall |
| Shift (hold) | The coffin: lie flat on your back along the board |
| Shift (tap) | Step off |
- ✔ Stance:
/skateboard stance left|rightsets the foot you lead with. It is remembered per player, and a right-footed rider gets the mirrored copy of every animation. - ✔ Bailing: land a long way round from the way you are travelling and you come off. Straight is fine, and so is straight backwards: that is a fakie, not a fall.
The skatepark
/skatepark lists the pieces, /skatepark <piece> hands one over and /skatepark all gives you the lot. Right-click the ground to place one, punch it to take it back.
Every piece is solid to the board: it rolls up a ramp's face and grinds along the top of a box. Slabs and platforms to build the ground, banks, quarter pipes and a wall ride to launch off, boxes, ledges and rails to grind, and park furniture round the edges.
Installing
- Install RP Engine (free) if you have not already.
- Drop
RPE-skateboards.jarintoplugins/besideRPEngine.jarand start the server. - Its content installs into
plugins/RPEngine/content/skateboards/and the engine reloads once to pick it up. That folder is yours to edit; an update overwrites only its own files.
Commands and permissions
| Command | What it does | Permission | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| /skateboard | Get a board, or set one down | skateboards.use | Everyone |
| (right-click a board) | Get on a board that is already down | skateboards.ride | Everyone |
| /skatepark | Get skatepark pieces | skateboards.park | Operators |
| /skateboard reload | Reload the config | skateboards.reload | Operators |
Riding is its own permission on purpose: a board left in a public square is something anybody can walk up to, so "may you have one" and "may you get on one" can have different answers.
Configuration
plugins/RPESkateboards/config.yml holds every message and the switches: bailing on or off, trick messages in chat, and handing every player a board when they join (off by default, and first join only when on).

Support
Ask on Discord. Please don't post bugs in the reviews; we can't reply there, and we would rather fix it.

Skateboards is built on RP Engine's public API, the same one any plugin can use. RP Engine comes from resourcepack.ai, a web editor for resource packs.
