Paper Flashback

Paper Flashback lets a Paper server generate replay files for the Flashback mod entirely server-side.

No client recorder required. Start recordings from the server, play normally, then open the exported replay in Flashback for cinematic shots, review, or content creation.

What it does

Paper Flashback can record:

• Specific players
• Chunk areas
• All online players at once

It also supports players who join later while all-player recording is active, so long sessions can keep going without constant babysitting.

Why it exists

Flashback is great for replay editing, but it is normally centered around client-side recording. Meaning if clients do not have it installed you can't easily get their perspective. Paper Flashback moves that workflow to the server:

• Record gameplay from the server side
• Export Flashback-compatible replay files
• Capture events, fights, builds, and movement without relying on every player to record locally

Notes

• This is a Paper plugin, not a Fabric/Forge gameplay mod.
• Replay files are generated on the server and then opened later in Flashback.
• Multi-player recording is handled as separate player recording segments/files, which keeps the workflow clean and predictable.
