Claim • Manage • Breed • Trade

NobleSteeds is a vanilla-friendly horse and mount management plugin for Paper, Spigot, and Purpur servers. Give your players a home for their favorite mounts: claim them, call them, send them to a stable, store them, share them with friends, revive them, and trade them through easy-to-use menus. Server owners can customize rarity, breeding quality, admin shops, NPC access, and storage to suit their server.

NobleSteeds is designed for single-server use. MySQL/MariaDB is an optional storage backend, not a network synchronization system.

Version Support

Platforms Minecraft Compatibility Storage Languages
Paper • Spigot • Purpur 1.18.2–26.3 SQLITE (Default) • MYSQL/MariaDB • YAML English • German • Spanish • French • Italian • Japanese • Korean • Dutch • Polish • Brazilian Portuguese • Russian • Swedish • Ukrainian • Simplified Chinese • Traditional Chinese • Hong Kong Traditional Chinese

Current release: NobleSteeds 2.0.0. Use the Java runtime required by your server; plugin bytecode requires Java 17 or newer. Optional integrations must support your server version.

Features - v2.0.0

GUI Mount Collections

  • Manage active mounts, stored mounts, player market listings, and admin shop entries through GUI menus.
  • Collection menus use 28 positions with pagination when needed.
  • Search, type/status filters, and sorting help players find their mounts.
  • Shift-right-click two owned, stored, or market mounts to compare their stats.
  • Type-specific spawn egg icons make mount cards easy to recognize.
  • Localized GUI names, lore, messages, and help entries.

Player Mount Management

  • Claim supported vanilla mounts.
  • View speed, jump strength, health, rarity, and eligible breeding quality.
  • Rename mounts and optionally assign random names to newly claimed unnamed mounts.
  • Set and call a favorite mount.
  • Set stable locations and send mounts back to stable.
  • Save named stable presets and assign them to owned mounts.
  • Optional auto-stable on logout with per-mount toggles.
  • Store mounts and restore them from player storage.

  • Configurable mount call cooldown.
  • Periodic saving of loaded claimed mounts, including equipment, chest contents, custom item metadata, stats, name, and location.

Supported Mounts

Horse • Donkey • Mule • Llama • Trader Llama • Skeleton Horse • Zombie Horse

Rarity and Breeding Quality

NobleSteeds calculates rarity from vanilla mount stats. Breeding Quality is a separate system that helps servers reward selective breeding without replacing vanilla stat storage.

  • Speed, jump strength, health, and a weighted overall rarity score.
  • Configurable stat ranges, scoring weights, and rarity tiers.
  • Default tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic.
  • Saved Breeding Quality for Horses, Donkeys, Llamas, and Trader Llamas.
  • Configurable parent-quality inheritance, random variation, and high-quality bonuses.
  • Optional improvements to offspring vanilla speed, jump, and health outcomes, within configured limits.
  • Mules and undead horses do not have Breeding Quality; Horse + Donkey offspring can still inherit a parent stat boost.
  • Breeding ancestry for newly bred mounts; older mounts have unknown ancestry.

Player Market and Item Currency

Players can list and buy mounts through /ns market.

  • Browse listings directly, with purchase confirmation and seller descriptions.
  • Vault money prices, item-currency prices, or both on one listing.
  • Configurable price limits and listing expiration; listings can be set to never expire.
  • Hide My Listings filter and Shift-Left-Click removal of your own listings.
  • Configurable item-currency entry limit, with repeated item entries supported.
  • Saved custom item templates with exact metadata matching.
  • Seller payout messages and item payout collection through /ns market receive.
  • Optional MailboxGUI package delivery for item-currency payouts.
  • Optional MailboxGUI money delivery for money payouts.
  • Configurable sale receipts, sender names, and payout mail delays.
  • Persistent transaction records and admin payout review tools.

Item-only trading works without Vault when configured for item currency. Custom currency templates preserve item metadata.

Admin Shop

Admins can create shop mounts with custom vanilla stat percentages. Players access the shop through /ns shop.

  • Choose mount type and supported variants.
  • Set speed, jump, health, and eligible Breeding Quality percentages.
  • Set Vault money prices, item-currency prices, or both.
  • Manage shop entries through commands and admin tools.
  • Optional Citizens NPC shop access.

Admin Tools

  • Admin Tools GUI.
  • Spawn custom mounts and edit vanilla stats.
  • Add, list, and remove admin shop entries.
  • Save, list, and delete custom currency item templates.
  • Clear stale claim data from a targeted mount.
  • Inspect mount ownership, status, location, and bounded operation history.
  • Inspect market transactions and resolve payout delivery reviews.
  • View the active storage provider and convert existing data between providers.
  • Reload configuration and check for updates.
  • Permission-controlled update staging and confirmation.

API Integration and Queued Rewards

  • Connect quest plugins and other integrations through the bundled public API.
  • Grant mounts to Active or Stored collections while respecting capacity limits.
  • Queue rewards when a collection is full; players can preview and claim them later.
  • Persistent reward IDs protect against duplicate grants when integrations retry.
  • Read mount, stable, ancestry, market, shop, payout, and reward information.
  • Use permission-checked mount actions and supported API events.
  • Optional PlaceholderAPI support for mount information, collection limits, listings, payouts, and rewards.

See the official wiki for API documentation and placeholders.

Text Formatting and Styling

  • Traditional color and formatting codes such as &6, &a, and &l.
  • HEX colors such as &#4498DB.
  • Supported visual MiniMessage formatting, including HEX colors, gradients, rainbows, and text styles.
  • Customize messages, GUI titles, item names, lore, help entries, and market payout receipts through configuration and language files.
  • Optional PlaceholderAPI parsing of trusted configured text.

Citizens NPC Access

NobleSteeds supports optional Citizens NPC access for mount storage, the player market, and the admin shop. Use NPCs to build stable yards, trading posts, or mount shops. Each access point is configurable, and command access remains available where enabled.

Commands and Permissions

All commands require noblesteeds.command. Configuration paths below refer to config.yml. Ownership, capacity, currency, and action-specific checks still apply.

Player Commands

/ns admin itemtemplate <save/list/delete> noblesteeds.admin.shop Manage custom currency templates; saving uses the held item and an ID.
/ns admin storage current noblesteeds.admin.storage Show the active storage provider.
/ns admin storage convert <YAML/SQLITE/MYSQL> noblesteeds.admin.storage Convert existing data; back up the plugin folder and database first.
/ns admin reload noblesteeds.admin.reload Reload configuration and language files.
/ns admin updatecheck noblesteeds.admin.update Check for updates; requires internet access.

Capacity and rewards: Use noblesteeds.claims.<amount> and noblesteeds.storage.slots.<amount> for capacity overrides. Claiming queued rewards requires noblesteeds.rewards.claim.

Localized syntax: Set locale.command-syntax.default and locale.command-syntax.auto-detect-player-locale to control subcommand language separately from message language. English subcommands remain accepted; the base command names remain the same. Subcommand localization does not require command re-registration or a restart.

See the official wiki for full syntax, permissions, and additional mount actions.

Installation

Basic Setup

  1. Download the NobleSteeds jar from the Versions tab on this Hangar project.
  2. Place the jar in your server's plugins folder.
  3. Install any optional dependencies needed for the features you plan to enable.
  4. Start the server once to generate files.
  5. Stop the server.
  6. Review plugins/NobleSteeds/config.yml and the generated language files.
  7. Configure storage, claim limits, storage slots, rarity, breeding quality, currencies, NPC access, and optional payout mail.
  8. Start the server again.
  9. Use /ns for player help and /nsa for admin help.

For upgrades, always back up the full plugins/NobleSteeds folder and your database before updating. Use dependency releases that support your exact Minecraft version.

Upgrades and storage conversion: Versioned upgrades preserve existing settings and migrate legacy data. Use /ns admin storage convert or the admin tools to move data between providers; changing storage.type alone does not copy it. Restoring an older version requires its matching configuration and data backup.

Languages: New text uses English defaults until translated. Customize language/messages_<code>.yml; existing customized text is preserved during theme upgrades.

Dependencies

The core mount system works without optional integrations. Install the plugins needed for the features you enable.

Integration Needed For Link / Requirement
Vault + economy plugin Money-based market and shop purchases, and paid revives when enabled. Vault plus any compatible economy provider. XConomy is a suggestion. Item-only trading does not require Vault when configured for item currency.
Citizens Optional storage, market, and shop NPC access points. Citizens; choose a build compatible with your server.
MailboxGUI Optional package and money-mail market payouts, including sale receipts. MailboxGUI on Hangar. Attached receipts require the 6.1.0 API; money mail also requires Vault and an economy provider.
PlaceholderAPI Optional mount, collection, market, payout, and reward placeholders. PlaceholderAPI; NobleSteeds includes its expansion.

Payout mail does not expire. Failed or uncertain deliveries retain persistent payment records; uncertain sends are held for admin review to prevent duplicate payment.
