GraveDiggerX is a high-performance, multi-threaded grave plugin built for Paper, Purpur, and Folia servers. When a player dies, a secure gravestone is spawned at the death location containing their items, equipped armor, and experience points—accompanied by an informational display hologram and a floating guardian spirit.

  • Automatic Gravestones – Securely transfers player inventory, armor, and XP to a personalized player-head grave with a real-time countdown hologram.
  • Interactive Recovery & Instant Looting – Players can open an interactive GUI to inspect items or hold Shift + Right-Click to collect everything instantly.
  • Configurable Expiration Actions – Choose what happens when a grave timer expires:
    • BECOME_PUBLIC – Turns the grave public so any player can loot it.
    • DROP_ITEMS – Drops all contents naturally on the ground.
    • DISAPPEAR – Cleans up the grave and permanently deletes remaining contents.
  • Grave & Anti-Theft Protection – Graves cannot be destroyed by explosions, fluids, pistons, hoppers, or mobs. Unauthorized players attempting to open protected graves are repelled with visual and sound effects.
  • Spawn-Protection Compatible – Players can safely collect graves even inside vanilla spawn protection areas.
  • Guardian Spirits – Floating spirit entity hovers over the grave with lightweight, optimized proximity tracking.
  • Automatic Inventory Backups – Automatically saves grave snapshots allowing administrators to restore lost player inventories on demand.
  • Multiple Storage Backends – Supports local JSON, SQLite, H2, MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL with connection pooling (HikariCP).
  • Native Folia & Paper Multi-Threading – All tasks are bound to regional schedulers (RegionScheduler), eliminating server stalls and lag spikes.
  • WorldGuard Integration – Respects region flags and ownership rules before placing graves.

📦 Requirements and Installation

  1. Paper, Purpur, or Folia server running Minecraft 1.21+ / 26.2 (Java 21+ required).
  2. Download the latest GraveDiggerX.jar and place it in your plugins/ directory.
  3. Start or restart the server to generate default configurations and language files.
  4. Customize config.yml and lang/ files as needed, then apply changes with /gdx reload.

⚙️ Configuration Overview

Key configuration options in config.yml:

Path Description
graves.grave-despawn Duration (in seconds) before the grave expires.
graves.expiration-action Action on expiration (BECOME_PUBLIC, DROP_ITEMS, DISAPPEAR).
graves.max-per-player Maximum concurrent active graves allowed per player.
graves.protected-effect-cooldown Cooldown (in ms) for the knockback effect on unauthorized looters.
graves.protection.* Toggles protection against explosions, fluids, mobs, pistons, and hoppers.
graves.backups.enabled Enables automatic inventory backup history for admin restores.
spirits.enabled Enables or disables floating guardian spirits above graves.
performance.cleanup.limit-per-tick Batch processing limit for entity and block cleanup commands to eliminate lag spikes.
database.type Storage engine selection (json, sqlite, mysql, mariadb, postgresql, h2).
language Language file selection (EN or PL). Custom messages configurable in lang/messages_*.yml.
