Automatic AFK handling, configurable AFK areas, rewards and visibility control for Paper servers.
AFK Area
AFK Area is a configurable AFK management plugin for Paper servers.
It combines automatic inactivity detection with dedicated AFK areas, rewards, visibility control, persistent player statistics, and anti-abuse features.
Players can be marked AFK automatically after a configurable period of inactivity or manually using /afk. After a longer period of inactivity, they can optionally be moved to a configured AFK area automatically.
Players may also enter an AFK area voluntarily at any time.
AFK Areas
AFK areas can use either native cuboid regions or existing WorldGuard regions.
Each area can have its own:
- Display name
- Teleport location
- Priority
- Reward configuration
WorldGuard-backed areas can optionally include child and descendant regions, making it possible to build larger or multi-level AFK areas from an existing region hierarchy.
Rewards
AFK Area includes a flexible command-based reward system.
Rewards support:
- Weighted random selection
- Multiple commands per reward
- Interval or milestone schedules
- Multiple reward rolls
- Optional duplicate prevention
- Per-reward permissions
- Custom reward messages
Because rewards are command-based, they can easily be used with economy, crate, item, experience, and other server systems.
Visibility
Players inside an AFK area can automatically be hidden from normal players in both the world and player list.
Staff members with the appropriate permission can continue to see them.
AFK Area also integrates with TAB and PlaceholderAPI for servers that use external player-list formatting.
Anti-Abuse
Reward distribution can be limited for players sharing the same IP address.
Persistent household groups allow legitimate players sharing a connection to be treated as one reward identity without disabling the protection entirely.
Player Information
AFK Area keeps persistent statistics for completed AFK area sessions, including:
- Session count
- Total AFK area time
- Longest session
- Last session duration
- Last visited area
Optional bossbar and actionbar displays can show the current session and time remaining until the next reward.
