🧩 Runs on Paper/Purpur 1.20.6 – 26.x (Java 21). Newer servers get every feature; on older versions a few extras fall back gracefully (see changelog).

Requires Vystorm Core (free) – the shared base of all Vystorm plugins (English/German language files, in-game config editor, update check). Just drop one extra jar into plugins/, no setup.

A camera for your players. Aim, click, and the photo arrives as a map. Craft a camera, aim and click: a moment later the photo is in your inventory as a map you can hang in an item frame, trade or collect. Day and night, torch light, distance haze, water, mobs and players are all in the picture.

Taking photos

• Craftable camera. Iron ingots around a glass pane, redstone below. By default it is a spyglass: right-click zooms like a viewfinder, left-click takes the photo.
• Real photos. Every pixel is a ray into the world: shaded block faces, sky and block light, day and night sky, haze in the distance, see-through glass, mobs and players.
• Film. Each photo uses one paper by default (configurable item, or free; creative is always free).
• Photos remember where they were taken: coordinates and compass direction in the lore.

Big photos and the album

• Big photos. /snapshot format 2x1 (also 2x2, 3x2 …) turns one shot into several maps that form one picture on a wall.
• Photo album. /snapshot album shows all your photos as a menu with pages. Click one to reprint it; shift-click any part of a big photo to reprint the whole picture.
• Kept forever. Every photo is saved as a PNG in plugins/VystormSnapshot/photos/ and restored after restarts.

Telephoto, selfie, flash

• Look through the spyglass for a zoomed shot, sneak for a selfie, and in the dark the flash lights up the scene.
• No lag. Photos render a few rows per tick and the number of photos developing at once is limited.
• Admin shots. /snapshot capture <world> <x> <y> <z> <yaw> <pitch> [format] takes photos from any position, also from the console (spawn boards, news, events).

Commands & permissions

Film item, cooldown, view distance and field of view are configurable.
