Backrooms by wmods: a yellow corridor on Level 0, and something smiling in the dark at the end of it

> *You fell through the floor. The carpet is wet, the lamps hum, and the yellow rooms go on forever. There is a way out down here. There is something else down here too.*

Paper & Purpur 26.2-3 Free, English and Italian

Backrooms adds **twelve procedural levels** under your server, each with its own world generator, atmosphere, objective and way out. A fear director decides when the lights go out, the Smiler waits in the dark and the Hound hunts you room by room. With **Siege** your players can end up here when they die, or walk in on purpose for the Raid. | | | | |---|---|---| | Level 0, The Lobby: yellow rooms and humming lamps

Level 0, The Lobby: yellow rooms and humming lamps

Level 1, The Habitable Zone: the lights go out, and every time they come back the figure is closer

Level 2, The Pipe Works: something walks up the tunnel towards you

| |

Level 37, The Poolrooms: someone crosses between the pillars, and is gone

Level 4, The Far Lands: broken terrain at sunset

Level 5, Disc 11: the light at the end dies, and something smiles from the dark

| |

Level 64637, The Library: shelves without end

Level 84, The Hedge Maze seen from above

Level 101, Alpha: endless plains and small wooden houses

| ## Better with the wmods family Backrooms works on its own. Add the plugins below and they talk to each other: | | With | What you get | |:---:|---|---| |

| **Siege** | **The Limbo:** die downed one time too many and you may wake up in the Backrooms, with a level to escape. | |

| **Siege 1.16+** | **The Raid:** a soul soil portal leads to an extraction match: loot, red doors, 35 minutes. | |

| **Gods + Siege** | **Implore your god:** from the Limbo, once per visit: your god sets a penance, and when it is done you are out. | > [!TIP] > Backrooms works on its own, and operators can send anyone to any level. The Limbo and the Raid come with **Siege**: install both for the full nightmare. ## The levels Every level is a file in `levels/`: generator, atmosphere, events, entities, exits and objective are yours to change. | Level | Name | What it is like | |:---:|---|---| | 0 | **The Lobby** | Yellow rooms, wet carpet, humming lamps, and patches where the lights are already dead. | | 1 | **The Habitable Zone** | Concrete garages that never end, with overgrown gardens far from where you landed. | | 37 | **The Poolrooms** | White tiles, warm water and skylights. A place to breathe, almost. | > *Nine more levels are down there. We won’t tell you their names, or the way out. You will find them.*

Spoilers: the way out of these levels

Every visit builds the way out somewhere new. Sounds, a bar with a direction and a few hints help, never too much. The Hound hunts on almost every level, never in the Lobby. | Level | Way out | You can land here from | |:---:|---|---| | 0 · The Lobby | Find the 8 books left on the desks. | Limbo, Raid | | 1 · The Habitable Zone | Pull three levers, then dive into the pool. | Limbo, Raid | | 37 · The Poolrooms | Pull three levers, then find the drain. | Limbo |

## You went through the floor

A player falls into Level 0 and the yellow maze builds itself around them

Wet carpet. Humming lamps. Yellow corridors that never end. Backrooms adds twelve procedural levels under your server, each with its own generator, its own way out and its own way of making you nervous. ## Find the way out. Quietly.

The lamps die one by one while a black figure watches from the end of the corridor

Every visit builds the exit somewhere new. Sounds, a bar with a direction and a few hints help, never too much. On Level 0 the way out is a handful of books on the desks, and something hunts you while you look for them: only a closet with the door shut will save you. ## Or walk in on purpose

The figure breaks into black cubes and the maze turns into the Poolrooms, with a red door at the end

Light a portal framed in soul soil and join the Raid: up to six players a match, loot to grab, 35 minutes on the clock. Reach one of the red doors before time runs out, or lose everything you found. ## What is waiting down there - **The fear director.** Events come at random intervals, never on a beat you can learn. Visual scares wait until you are actually looking, and come back if you missed them. - **Things in the walls.** Figures peek round corners, a minecart rolls by with nobody pushing it, doors close when you turn away. The Smiler waits in the dark. - **The Hound.** A hunter in black with red eyes. It searches by zones and remembers where you hid: closets save you, but not if it saw you get in. - **Twelve levels.** The Lobby, the Pipe Works, the Poolrooms, the Hedge Maze, Skyblock, the Far Lands, the Library, Disc 11 and more, each with its own objective. - **Yours to tune.** Every level is a file in `levels/`: generator, atmosphere, events, entities, exits and objective. Texts in English and Italian. ## Seen down there Screenshots from our test server, with the plugin as it ships (night vision on for the darker levels). | | | | |---|---|---| | The Smiler, grinning from the dark end of a Level 0 corridor
