Reset World: When a player dies, the game world is completely deleted and regenerated from scratch.
ResetWorld
When a player dies, the world is deleted and a brand new one appears with a different seed.
ResetWorld turns your server into a round-based survival mode: when a player dies, the game world is completely deleted and generated again from scratch, with different terrain, villages and structures. Nobody sees the death screen or gets kicked: while the world regenerates, everyone sees an empty world in spectator mode and returns once the new world is ready.
Inspired by the popular Fahare plugin, adapted to the latest Paper versions.
Features
- 🔄 A completely new world on every death, nothing is copied from the previous one.
- 🎲 A different seed on every reset: the terrain is always different.
- ⏱️ No death screens or kicks: respawning is automatic.
- 👻 Spectator wait in an empty world while the new one is generated.
- 💀 Hardcore hearts in the game world.
- 🎒 Inventory is lost on death (all other rules are those of a normal world).
- 💾 Optional backup before deleting, toggled with a command.
- ⚙️ Fully configurable: difficulty, gamerules, wait time, which players trigger the reset.
- 🚀 Doesn't touch your server's main world, so you can use it as a lobby.
Requirements
- Paper 26.2 (or higher in the same line).
- Java 25.
- No external dependencies.
Installation
- Download the
.jarfile from the project page. - Place it in your server's
plugins/folder. - Start the server.
On the first startup, the game world and the waiting world will be created. Players who join the main world will be automatically sent to the game world.
Important notice: the plugin manages its own game world in
world/dimensions/resetworld/. If you already have a hand-built world and want to keep it, enable backups first (/resetworld backup on) or make a manual copy of the world folder.
How it works
When a player dies:
- The title REINICIANDO MUNDO / Cargando datos... appears instead of the respawn button.
- All players are moved to the empty waiting world in spectator mode.
- The player who died respawns on their own, without clicking anything.
- The game world (and the Nether and the End) is unloaded and deleted.
- A new world is generated with a new seed.
- Everyone returns to the new world with clean health and inventory.
It takes between 2 and 6 seconds, depending on the size of the worlds and whether backups are enabled.

Backups
With backups enabled, a full copy is saved before each world is deleted, in:
backups/world_name_YYYY-MM-DD_HH-mm-ss/
To restore a previous game, copy that folder back to its original location
(world/dimensions/resetworld/overworld) with the server turned off.
Recommended if you're going to try the plugin on a server with worlds you care about: the first reset is irreversible.
Configuration
The plugins/reset_world/config.yml file is created automatically on first startup.

World rules
By default the world is played like a regular one: with animals, monsters, rain, day and night cycle, and normal health regeneration. The only thing that changes is that the inventory is lost on death.
Gamerules are controlled in hardcore.gamerules (in this version of Minecraft the names use
snake_case, for example keep_inventory). Any rule you don't set there stays at its normal
value.
Messages
All texts are editable and support Minecraft color codes (&a, &l, &c...), so you can adapt
them to your server's language.
FAQ
How long does the reset take?
2 to 6 seconds. Setting spectator-seconds to 0 and disabling backups makes it faster.
Can I test it without losing my world?
Yes: enable /resetworld backup on first, play a round, and then restore the backup if you're not
convinced.
Does it work with other plugins?
Yes, except with plugins that intercept teleporting or respawning
(PlayerTeleportEvent / PlayerRespawnEvent) and cancel them, such as some spawn protection
plugins. If you notice the cycle getting stuck, check the console for errors from those plugins.
How do I test it quickly?
Join the game and use /kill.
Note for existing servers
The game world is created as a separate dimension inside your main world's folder, so not a single file of your current world is touched. Players who connect will be taken to the game world and from there you'll keep playing as usual.
