Timberella 2.0.0 brings the plugin to Minecraft 26.3 and upgrades your 1.x setup automatically. It now fells only real trees, so builds made of logs stay standing, and it respects land protection for every block it touches. By default it replants only with saplings the tree actually dropped, and it supports the new poplars.

Compatibility & upgrade

• Minecraft 26.3: Requires Paper 26.3 and Java 25.
• Automatic upgrade: Your 1.x folder is backed up to backup-1.x/, and fresh commented files keep every setting you changed.
• New setting names: Settings now use snake_case (e.g. enable_timber); the upgrade renames them for you.
• Poplars: Poplars and shelf mushrooms from Minecraft 26.3 are supported.
• Custom blocks: Blocks from ItemsAdder, MMOItems, MythicCrucible and CraftEngine are left alone.

New features

• Builds stay standing: Only logs with naturally grown leaves are felled (require_natural_leaves, on by default).
• Land protection: WorldGuard, GriefPrevention & co., spawn protection and the world border apply to every felled log, cleared leaf and replanted sapling.
• Fair replanting: A sapling is only replanted if the tree dropped one (replant.sapling_source: free keeps free replanting).
• Smarter leaf cleanup: Only the felled tree's own leaves go; hedges and neighbouring crowns stay.
• Plugin friendly: Drop and auto-pickup plugins and the blocks-mined statistic see every felled log.
• Offline toggle: /timberella toggle <player> works for offline players.

Improvements

• Files stay yours: Updates add new settings with their comments, and a file with a YAML error is never overwritten.
• Vanilla axe wear: Unbreaking, unbreakable axes and creative mode work like in vanilla.
• 14 languages: All messages are translated, and the console output is clearer.

Fixes

• No more lag: Felling large trees such as mangroves no longer slows the server.
• Species limits: The limits for pale oak, dark oak and giant mushrooms are respected.
• Fungi and bees: Huge fungi are cleared completely, and bees in felled nests behave like in vanilla.
• Toggles kept: /timberella toggle choices are no longer lost.

• MIT License: Timberella is now MIT-licensed, by kroet.net; the Java package is now net.kroet.timberella.
• Docs & build: Rewritten README and wiki; built and tested against Paper 26.3 build 49.
