Slimefun4 continued for modern Paper servers, preserving classic gameplay, machines, items, and addon support.
π§ͺ Slimefun Legacy 4.1.37 β Faster Guides, Smarter Categories & Golden Networks
Slimefun Legacy 4.1.37 gives the classic Slimefun experience some modern polish without changing what makes Slimefun4 feel like Slimefun. β¨
This release focuses on guide performance, addon compatibility, and a little extra visual flair.
β‘ Much Faster Slimefun Searches
The Slimefun Guide search system has been reworked to reduce repeated processing on larger servers.
π Shared cached search index for Classic + Enhanced Guide π Search metadata is cached instead of rebuilt every time π€ Enhanced results stay pre-sorted π― Smart filters now include: id: addon: category: group: recipe: π§ Expensive group/recipe information is only calculated when actually needed π Designed to reduce the MSPT impact previously seen during large Slimefun searches
Large addon collections should especially benefit from this one.
ποΈ New Guide Categories for Addons
Inspired by newer Slimefun guide improvements, addons can now organize entire ItemGroups with one category declaration.
Addon developers can use:
itemGroup.setCategory(DefaultGuideCategories.MACHINES);
Every item in that group can then inherit the category automatically.
Built-in category IDs include:
Weapons β’ Tools β’ Armor β’ Machines β’ Energy Tech β’ Resources β’ Magic β’ Food β’ Logistics β’ Decoration β’ Misc
You can even search them:
category:machines category:magic category:weapons
Existing addons do not need to change anything. This is an additive compatibility feature.
β¨ Energy Network Visualizer
Energy Regulators got a little more magical.
Right-click an Energy Regulator to toggle a player-specific Energy Network visualizer.
π Features:
Warm golden dust particles Highlights your connected Energy Network Only visible to the player using it Range limited Particle budget capped for performance Does not intentionally load unloaded chunks Existing legacy network visualization remains compatible
Basically: find your cables without turning your server into a fireworks show. β‘
π‘οΈ Compatibility
Slimefun Legacy continues to prioritize existing worlds and addons.
Primary
β Paper 26.2 β Java 25 runtime
Also supported
β Purpur 26.2 β Paper / Purpur 1.21.11 compatibility π§ͺ Folia 26.2 β experimental
Slimefun-owned classes continue targeting Java 21 bytecode for broader compatibility.
No intentional changes were made to existing:
Item IDs Research IDs Recipes Machine storage Databases Saved-world formats Cargo behavior Energy transfer behavior π¦ Updating
This is intended as a normal drop-in upgrade from 4.1.36.
Important: fully stop your server before replacing the Slimefun JAR.
Do not replace the JAR while Paper is running and do not use /reload.
Then simply replace the old file with the latest:
Slimefun-Legacy4.1.37.jar
β€οΈ Keeping Classic Slimefun Alive
Slimefun Legacy aims to preserve the familiar Slimefun4 experience while improving compatibility with modern Paper servers, current Java versions, and the addon ecosystem.
Classic Slimefun. Modern Minecraft. Less lag. More machines.
