4.1.39

Slimefun Legacy 4.1.39 is here! ✨

This update focuses on making Slimefun easier to run, troubleshoot, and maintain on modern servers, while continuing to improve performance and preserve compatibility with the classic Slimefun ecosystem.

🔍 New: /sf tick Diagnostics

Server administrators now have a new set of built-in tools for investigating Slimefun machine performance.

/sf tick

View the current state of the Slimefun machine ticker, including:

  • ⚙️ Ticker state
  • 📊 Registered machine count
  • 🗺️ Machine chunks
  • ⏱️ Current ticker rate
  • ⏸️ Paused machine circuits
  • ⚠️ Failing machines
  • 🧵 Paper/Purpur or Folia execution mode

Additional commands include:

  • /sf tick top — collect a profiler sample and show the most expensive ticking machines
  • /sf tick at — inspect the Slimefun machine you're currently looking at
  • /sf tick <item ID> — inspect the ticker type for a specific Slimefun item
  • /sf tick rate — display the current ticker interval
  • /sf tick freeze — safely pause new Slimefun machine ticker cycles
  • /sf tick unfreeze — resume the machine ticker

This gives server owners a much easier way to investigate TPS drops, expensive machines, overloaded networks, or suspicious chunks without immediately reaching for external profiling tools.

Permission:

slimefun.command.tick

Defaults to server operators.

🛡️ The diagnostic system uses Slimefun Legacy's existing ticker and profiler infrastructure rather than replacing the machine execution system.

The enhanced Slimefun Guide received another round of performance improvements.

Repeated Search → Back → Search navigation could previously cause unnecessary work as the Guide repeatedly scanned the Slimefun registry.

4.1.39 improves this by:

  • ♻️ Reusing previous Smart Search results when navigating back
  • 📦 Keeping a small bounded search-result cache per player
  • 🧹 Preventing duplicate search-history entries from continuously accumulating
  • ⚡ Reducing repeated full-registry searches
  • 🔙 Making Back navigation significantly lighter

Servers that disable:

features.smart-search

now properly fall back to the original Slimefun search implementation.

Smart Search ON → enhanced indexed search and filtering.

Smart Search OFF → traditional Slimefun name-based searching.

Simple and predictable. ✅

🚚 Cargo Network Performance Improvements

Cargo Networks also received some lower-level optimization work.

4.1.39 reduces unnecessary object and item-meta reconstruction while Cargo is attempting to move items between destinations.

For large factories and heavily automated servers, these small optimizations help reduce needless work inside one of Slimefun's most frequently executed systems.

The goal remains the same:

Less overhead. More machines. Happier TPS.

⚔️ ExtraGear Is Now Built Into Slimefun Legacy

A piece of classic Slimefun history has returned.

The historical ExtraGear addon has been integrated directly into Slimefun Legacy, bringing its additional material-based weapons and armor into the normal Slimefun Guide.

Compatibility was an important part of the integration, so the built-in implementation preserves the historical:

  • 🆔 Item IDs
  • 🔨 Recipes
  • ✨ Enchantments
  • 📚 Research identifiers
  • 💰 Research costs

If the standalone ExtraGear plugin is installed, Slimefun Legacy detects it and does not register the built-in version, preventing duplicate item IDs.

ExtraGear equipment appears naturally within the existing Weapons and Armor sections of the Slimefun Guide.

🧪 Compatibility & Stability

Slimefun Legacy continues to target modern Minecraft servers while maintaining the familiar Slimefun 4 ecosystem.

Supported Platforms

  • 🟢 Paper 26.2 — Primary
  • 🟢 Purpur 26.2 — Supported
  • 🟡 Folia 26.2 — Experimental
  • ✅ Minecraft 1.21.11
  • ☕ Built using Java 25
  • ☕ Java 21 bytecode compatibility

Compatibility checks for addons and internal storage regression tests continue to be part of the development process.

💜 What is Slimefun Legacy?

Slimefun Legacy is a community-maintained continuation of the classic Slimefun 4 experience for modern Minecraft servers.

The project aims to keep existing worlds, addons, machines, research, and gameplay alive while gradually modernizing Slimefun for today's Paper ecosystem.

The focus continues to be:

Compatibility • Performance • Stability • Preservation

📦 Updating

Replace your existing Slimefun JAR with:

Slimefun-Legacy4.1.39.jar

and restart the server.

As always, backing up important worlds and plugin data before updating is recommended.

❤️ Thank You
