Slimefun4 continued for modern Paper servers, preserving classic gameplay, machines, items, and addon support.
๐ Slimefun Legacy 4.1.49
Another Slimefun Legacy update is here!
4.1.49 continues the focus on performance, stability, addon compatibility, and quality-of-life improvements while keeping Slimefun alive and maintained for modern Minecraft servers.
โจ What's New
This release includes another round of improvements to the Enhanced Slimefun Guide, server-owner tools, addon compatibility, and overall performance.
๐ Enhanced Guide Improvements
- Added a new What's New? section showing the currently installed Slimefun Legacy version.
- Added easier access to the latest release information.
- Added server-owner shortcuts for useful update, version, and stability commands.
- Improved bookmark performance by caching player bookmarks instead of repeatedly rebuilding them.
- Improved Recipes Using This Item performance by caching and reusing sorted recipe results.
- Preserved the familiar Survival/Cheat guide modes and existing Enhanced Guide controls.
โ๏ธ Performance & Stability
Slimefun Legacy continues to receive performance work based on real-world server profiling.
This release reduces unnecessary repeated processing inside the Guide and recipe systems while preserving existing machines, items, worlds, and addon behavior.
Performance and stability will remain a major focus as Slimefun Legacy continues to grow.
๐งฉ Better Addon Compatibility
Recognition of maintained SF_ addon forks has been improved, including addons whose internal plugin name differs from their GitHub repository name.
Compatibility testing has also continued across maintained addons and the upcoming Minecraft/Paper platform changes.
๐ฆ Keep Your Addons Updated!
Slimefun itself is only one part of the ecosystem.
Many of the maintained Slimefun addons have also received bug fixes, compatibility updates, performance improvements, and fixes for newer Slimefun Legacy builds.
๐ Check the wickidcow GitHub repositories regularly for the latest Slimefun Legacy addon releases.
If you're running an older version of an addon, updating Slimefun Legacy alone may not include fixes that were made directly to that addon.
The release also includes the refreshed:
SFL_AddonsNDependencies.zip
This bundle contains the current maintained Slimefun Legacy addon/dependency set and is validated separately as part of the release process.
๐งช Minecraft / Paper 26.3
Paper 26.2 remains the current production target for Slimefun Legacy 4.1.49.
Work has already begun preparing Slimefun Legacy and maintained addons for the upcoming 26.3 platform changes.
โ ๏ธ Once Paper 26.3 officially releases, updating Slimefun Legacy for 26.3 will be a TOP PRIORITY.
The goal will be to:
- Bring Slimefun Legacy to 26.3 as quickly and safely as possible.
- Test the maintained SF_ addon ecosystem against 26.3.
- Fix API or compatibility changes introduced by the update.
- Continue supporting stable servers on 26.2 while the transition is validated.
- Avoid rushing an update that could compromise existing Slimefun worlds or machines.
Pre-release compatibility work will continue in the meantime so we're in the best possible position when 26.3 lands.
๐ฅ๏ธ Current Platform Support
Primary: Paper 26.2 Also Supported: Purpur based on Paper 26.2 Experimental: Folia with Folia-compatible addons Build Environment: Java 25
โค๏ธ Keeping Slimefun Alive
Slimefun Legacy exists to keep the classic Slimefun experience usable, maintained, and improving on modern Minecraft versions.
That means more than simply making Slimefun start on the latest server version โ it means continuing to improve performance, fix long-standing bugs, maintain addon compatibility, and preserve existing worlds and machines wherever possible.
Thanks to everyone using, testing, reporting issues, and helping keep the Slimefun ecosystem alive.
