Stack armadillos with WildStacker without nerfing farms: same silverfish, scutes and cramming as vanilla.
StackedArmadillos
Lets armadillo farms use WildStacker without changing what they produce. A stack of 24 armadillos is one entity for the server, but it still behaves like 24: same silverfish, same scutes, same cramming.
**Requires WildStacker. download it from its own page. The server won't load StackedArmadillos without it.
Who it's for
Servers that want to stay as close to vanilla as possible, where players build armadillo farms like in singleplayer and the server must not change what those farms produce. You get the lag savings of stacking without nerfing the farms.
Why
A typical silverfish XP farm packs 24 armadillos per block on a campfire, with Infestation on them. A farm with 12 stations has 288 armadillos, each running its AI, pushing the others and taking campfire damage twice a second.
WildStacker can merge each station into one entity, but on its own it breaks the farm. For the game a stack is one armadillo, so a station of 24 would:
- roll Infested once per hit instead of 24 times, spawning about 1/24 of the silverfish
- drop one scute instead of 24
- never kill a 25th armadillo pushed into the block, because cramming counts the stack as one
- steal armadillos from the station next to it, since WildStacker merges up to 10 blocks apart by default
StackedArmadillos fixes all four.
What it does
- Infested: a stack gets one Infested roll per armadillo on every hit, with the vanilla rules (10% chance, 1 or 2 silverfish).
- Cramming: armadillos inside stacks count for entity cramming. A 25th armadillo pushed into a block with a stack of 24 dies like in vanilla.
- Stacking: stacks never grow past 24 and only merge armadillos in the same block, so stations never mix.
- Scutes: a stack drops one scute per armadillo. Brushing still gives one, like in vanilla.
Single armadillos and every other mob are left alone. 24 is the vanilla max_entity_cramming value, and the plugin follows the gamerule by default.
Use it with FrozenSilverfish
The silverfish a stack spawns are as many as in vanilla, on purpose. To make them cheap too, install FrozenSilverfish, which turns off their AI while keeping their physics.
| Plugin | Job |
|---|---|
| WildStacker | merges the 24 armadillos of a station into one entity |
| StackedArmadillos | makes that stack behave like 24 armadillos |
| FrozenSilverfish | makes the silverfish they spawn cheap for the server |
Installation
- Put the jar in
plugins, next to WildStacker. - In
plugins/WildStacker/config.yml, underentities, set:
entities:
merge-radius:
ARMADILLO: 1
limits:
ARMADILLO: 24
stack-interval: 100
- Restart the server and run
/sa status. It warns you if something in the WildStacker config is missing.
If you use minimum-required, keep it low for armadillos (for example ARMADILLO: 2): it counts babies and adults separately.
Configuration
plugins/StackedArmadillos/config.yml, reload with /sa reload. The defaults copy vanilla, so most servers don't need to change anything.

Commands
Permission stackedarmadillos.admin (ops by default).
/sa status: settings, loaded armadillos and stacks, warnings about the WildStacker config/sa reload: reloads the config and checks WildStacker again
